A Student Book Review

A Book Review for The Pleasures of My Company by Steve martin

Do you have any odd habits that you can’t live without doing? Well, Daniel Pecan Cambridge, has extreme neuroses. These obsessions cripple his entire life. One example of his OCD is that all his lightbulbs in his apartment have to equal a certain wattage. He can’t step off a curb to cross the street and only crosses at parallel driveway scoops. After being rejected as a genius his life goals perish. Dealing with OCD this is very relatable. This book is wonderful for many young readers and those intrigued with mental disorders.

#Cavaliers Read THIS FRIDAY

The #CavaliersRead Book Club is meeting this Friday in the C Wing Career Office during each lunch (Friday, January 29). We are discussing any book that has become a movie, so get ready! It's a "bring you own book" meeting, but it's okay if you don't have your book. We are going to play a Kahoot game, and one lucky winner from EACH LUNCH will win a $10 Regal Theater gift card.

Did you forget to sign up? No worries! You and any of your friends are welcome to come, just be sure to bring your own lunch. Several students do this every book club.

Blind Date with a Book 2016

We've launched our "Blind Date with a Book" annual campaign. This reading campaign will run through until the end of February. Students who submit a quick review using the pink bookmark (after having their "blind date" for three days) will be treated with something sweet at the circ desk.  Those who go one to add a digital book review in Destiny or Destiny Quest will be entered into a drawing for a Regal Cinema gift card.  We are looking forward to hearing about and reading reviews of your "blind dates" with these books.
