Coming in April....

April is National Poetry Month! Dorman is planning some weekly activities, and here is one that is EASY to prepare for!  Just have a "poem in your pocket" April 26, 2012 during your lunch block, and get discount coupons for lunchroom goodies (the Cavalatte, ice cream, or anything sold in the cafeteria!)

What else is planned?
Week of April 9
Library Poetry Scavanger Hunt - Visit the library and use the ipad and its Apps in the library to answer a few questions.  The scavenger hunt calls for doing screenshots, answer questions in a form, and even using QR codes!

Week of April 16
Spine Tales and Title Talkers (Poems or phrases made from the spines of books!)

Week of April 23
Poem in Your Pocket Day - have a poem in your pocket during lunch Thursday, april 26, and win a coupon for the cavalatte or cafeteria ice cream store; be entered into a drawing for Barnes & Noble gift cards. Reciting a poem earns a "better" coupon (could mean FREE stuff instead of discounts!!)

Other than the "on the spot" awards for "Poem In Your Pocket," all award winners will be announced on Monday, April 30 at a National Poetry Month Drop-in Breakfast.  Secure your invitation by participating in our activities during this month of fun while we celebrate poetry.

(This is last year's Spine Tales and Title Talkers.)
